Description
Intimus 20000G NSA Listed Degausser
The Intimus 20000G is a 20,000 gauss (2 Tesla) degausser evaluated by the NSA and listed on the NSA/CSS Evaluated Products List (EPL) for the sanitization of classified and top secret magnetic media. It is intended for government agencies, defense contractors, and organizations required to follow NSA data destruction standards.
NSA EPL Listing
As an NSA evaluated and listed degausser, the Intimus 20000G meets the requirements for sanitizing top secret magnetic media. It also erases data in compliance with NIST, HIPAA, GLBA, FACTA, PCI DSS, GDPR, and PIPEDA.
Reverse Polarity Degaussing
The Intimus 20000G uses a Reverse Polarity process. Each cycle subjects the drive to a 20,000 gauss positive magnetic field followed by a second 20,000 gauss negative field, providing two degaussing pulses per cycle.
Operation and Throughput
Drives are inserted into the feed slot on top of the unit, and the cycle starts with the press of a button. When degaussing is complete, the drive is automatically ejected from the bottom chute. The cycle time is 45 to 60 seconds with continuous duty operation, and throughput is 60 to 80 drives per hour. An LCD field strength indicator and digital cycle counter verify each cycle.
Security Level and Media Compatibility
The Intimus 20000G meets DIN 66399 security level H-7 for hard drive data destruction. It sanitizes longitudinal (LMR) and perpendicular (PMR) recording media on desktop, laptop/notebook, and server hard drives, as well as computer tapes, up to 1 x 4.3 x 6 inches.
Power and Portability
Auto-sensing dual voltage from 90 to 240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz allows operation on 120 or 240 volt power. Rugged, custom-fitted field deployment cases are available. Made in the United States.
Degauss and Destroy Compliance
The NSA requires classified and top secret magnetic media to be degaussed in an NSA listed degausser and then physically destroyed with a crusher or shredder. The Department of Defense requires the same two-stage process. The Intimus 20000G can be paired with the NSA listed Intimus Hybrid Crusher to meet this requirement.
